The 55th National Fim awards for the year 2007 was announced today after noon.

The Best Director – Adoor Gopalakrishnan for the film Naalu Pennungal in Malayalam
The Best Film – Kanjevaram, Directed by Priyadarshan in Tamil
The Best Actor – Prakesh Raj for the film Kaanjevaram in Tamil
The Best Actress – Umasree for the film Gulab Talkies in Kannada
The Best Music Director – Ouseppachan for the film Ore Kadal in Malayalam
Special Jurie Award – Gandhi my father, Director – Firos Abbas Khan
Best Playback singer, male – Shankar Mahadevan for the song Mere Maa from the film Taare Zameen Par
Best Playback singer, female – Shreya Goshal for the film Jab we met
Makeupman – Pattanam Rasheedh for the Malayalam film Paradeshi
Best editing – B Ajith Kumar for the Malayalam film Naalu Pennungal
Best Art Direction – Sabu Cyril for Om Santhi Om
Best Popular film – CHAK DE INDIA
Best film on family welfare – Tare Zameen Par
Best Screenplay – Firos Abbas Khan for the film Gandhi my Father.
Best feature film on National Integration – DHARM in Hindi by Bhavana Thalvar as Director and Sheethal V. Thalwar as the producer of the film.
